Class Notes: So … an interesting thing happened on the way to our 40th Reunion in 2019. By way of background, during our time as Officer Cadets at the military colleges, we were not allowed to be married, so many of the guys got married as soon as they were allowed to, around the time they graduated and headed out in to the real world. That means for a number of couples they actually share the same wedding and graduation anniversaries. That realization first came to mind when the Gimblett’s, Dixon’s, Main’s and McCarthy’s got back from their “European Vacation” and sent in photos. Well, as it turns, and not surprisingly in hindsight, we also found out other couples belong to that same club, including Gary Bruce and his wife Micheline. Gary and Micheline ended up celebrating their 40th in March 2019 by travelling to faraway New Zealand for a cruise, in part because of Gary’s love of the Lord of the Rings. Says Gary, she “endured many hours on a bus so I could see the hill where they created one of the major sets on LOTR.  She is not as big a fan as I 😋.” In fact, he sent along this picture of both of them wielding swords (in Micheline’s case, “STING, Frodo’s sword from the Lord of the Rings”).
