Banner Photo: 5 Sqn N Flight recruits walking off the parade square still clad in civilian clothing on Arrival Day on the 10th of August 1975. From the left, Gary Banks (barely visible), Jim Kightley and Jeff Switzer, then Jeff Shannon (red shirt), Mike Diebel, and Al Lounsbury, then Doug McLean and Bob Hills, and then Recruit Flight CFL Paul Sunderland in scarlets (that very tall guy in the white shirt beside him - Nick Garito, not surprisingly). Interestingly, in the fourth year write up on the CFL, it says that Paul “was rewarded for his keeness and dedication by being appointed Rook Flight CFL (some reward - Lounsbury, Mackley and Garito)” - enough said apparently!
